OUC ended net metering for new solar applications in July 2025 — new exports earn the community-solar rate, and the new pricing lands Fall 2026. A Tesla Powerwall stores your daytime power for evening use, backs up your home through storm season, and positions you for OUC's relaunching storage rebate. If you're grandfathered, storage protects the rate you already locked.

The crediting change affects every new OUC solar interconnection. Whether you're grandfathered, recently connected, or considering solar now, we confirm exactly which rules apply to your home before anything is signed — and file for the storage rebate if you qualify when it opens. Final program terms are set by OUC.

For applications after July 1, 2025, OUC credits exported solar at the community solar rate — not the retail rate — with the full pricing change effective Fall 2026. Power you send away is worth less; power you store and use is still worth full value. That's the battery's job.
